19TH CENTURY GOTHIC REVIVAL PAINTED DUG OUT CHAIR CIRCA 1890.
UNUSUAL PROFUSELY HAND CARVED SWEDISH TUB CHAIR, CREATED BY USING A TREE TRUNK AND CARVING IT INTO A SEAT.
SHAPED ARMS WITH FLORAL AND ACANTHUS LEAF DECORATION, WHICH IS CARRIED ON AROUND THE FRONT BASE. GROTESQUE FACE TO REVERSE WITH A FURTHER DECORATION OF ACANTHUS LEAVES. BACK REST WITH A HUMOUROUS CARVING OF A MAIN AT THE DENTIST IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING SOME UNCOMFORTABLE EXTRACTION.
MINOR SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK. LATER PAINTED IN A FLESH COLOURED PAINT.
