SWEDISH EARLY 20TH CENTURY EMPIRE REVIVAL BIRCH PEDESTAL DESK CIRCA 1910.
GOOD QUALITY PEDESTAL DESK COMPRISING OF 3 PARTS. 2 PEDESTALS AND TOP SURFACE.
TOP SURFACE VENEERED IN A TIGER BIRCH WHICH SHOWCASES THE GRAIN OF THE WOOD. WIDE DRAWER ABOVE THE KNEE FLANKED EITHER SIDE BY A SINGLE DRAWER, ALL OF WHICH OPEN ON THE KEY. EACH PEDESTAL DOOR DECORATED WITH EBONISED COLUMNS AND INSET PANEL AND OPENING TO REVEAL 4 OAK DRAWER SLIDES IN EACH. RAISED ON BLOCK FEET. FINISHED TO THE REVERSE, SO THIS DESK CAN BE FREE STANDING IF DESIRED.
RECENTLY FULLY RE-POLISHED BY HAND IN OUR WORKSHOP. 1 SMALL INDENTATION TO TOP SURFACE WHICH HAS BEEN PHOTOGRAPHED. MINOR SURFACE MARKS IN LINE WITH AGE AND USE.
