SCANDINAVIAN ART DECO BIRCH PEDESTAL DESK CIRCA 1930.
ELEGANT ART DECO PERIOD 3 PART DESK FROM SWEDEN, RECENTLY RE-FINISHED IN OUR WORKSHOP.
PLAIN WRITING SURFACE WHICH HAS THE VENEERS CUT TO SHOW THE GRAIN PATTERN OF THE WOOD, WITH A SINGLE DRAWER ABOVE THE KNEE. EACH DOOR IS QUARTER MATCHED VENEERED WITH APPLIED CARVED DECORATION. RIGHT HAND PEDESTAL OPENS TO REVEAL A FITTED INTERIOR OF 4 OAK DRAWER SLIDES. LEFT HAND PEDESTAL OPENS TO A PAIR OF FIXED SHELVES, WITH A FURTHER DRAWER ON THE TOP OF EACH PEDESTAL.
ALL DRAWERS ARE OAK LINED WITH WORKING LOCKS AND KEY. THIS DESK IS DECORATED ON THE REVERSE SIDE THE SAME WHICH MAKES IT FREE STANDING. STANDING ON SLIGHTLY SPLAYED LEGS.
GOOD RICH COLOUR, VERY MINOR SURFACE MARKS.
