SCANDINAVIAN 19TH CENTURY BIRCH CHEST OF DRAWERS CIRCA 1870.
GOOD QUALITY SWEDISH CHEST FITTED WITH 4 DRAWERS OF EQUAL PROPORTION.
2 PLANK TOP WITH ROUNDED TOP FRONT EDGE AND MOULDING. EACH PINE LINED DRAWER IS FITTED WITH WORKING LOCK AND KEY, AS TYPICAL WITH SWEDISH FURNITURE THERE ARE NO KNOBS OR HANDLES AND THE DRAWERS OPEN ON THE KEY. STANDING ON 4 BLOCK FEET.
RECENTLY FULLY RE-FINISHED IN OUR WORKSHOP AND RE-POLISHED BY HAND, MAINTAINING IT’S RICH GOLDEN COLOUR WHICH SHOWCASES THE GRAIN IN THE TIMBER.
EXPECTED MINOR SURFACE MARKS IN LINE WITH AGE AND USE. EVIDENCE OF PREVIOUS WORM DAMAGE TO 1 LOWER SIDE, WHICH HAS BEEN FILLED AND RESTORED.
