ENGLISH MID 20TH CENTURY OAK DESK CIRCA 1940.
HERE WE HAVE AN ENGLISH MADE DESK WHICH WAS MADE EITHER SIDE OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DATE. MADE DURING A TIME WHEN WOOD WAS IN SHORT SUPPLY DUE TO ITS METALWORK DRAWER LININGS.
PERFECTLY FUNCTIONAL PIECE OF FURNITURE READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.
OAK VENEERED TOP. WITH A PULL OUT DRAWER ABOVE THE KNEE. EACH SIDE IS FITTED WITH AN OAK BRUSHING SLIDE. 3 DRAWERS OF EQUAL PROPORTIONS TO THE LEFT, AND 2 DRAWERS, ONE FORMING A FAUX DEEP DRAWER TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE.
STANDING ON 8 SLIGHTLY TAPERING LEGS.
AREA OF RESTORATION TO DEEP STAINING TO TOP SURFACE. NO KEYS PRESENT BUT NO NEED FOR THEM DUE TO HANDLES. A REAL PIECE FROM FROM THE MID 20TH CENTURY READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.
