Description

This early Victorian breakfront bookcase, circa 1850, is crafted in flame mahogany and made up of five sections: plinth, cupboard, middle section, glazed unit and cornice. The finest quality matching veneers are complemented by applied lambs tongue carvings, swags and beading to the doors. Glazed doors above open to adjustable shelving, with cupboard storage below. There is minor surface fading and minor restorations to the veneer.

TOP SECTION HAS CENTRAL DOUBLE GLAZED DOORS WHICH OPEN TO REVEAL 4 ADJUSTABLE SHELVES, FLANKED EITHER SIDE BY SINGLE GLAZED DOOR WITH 3 SHELVES EACH. LOWER SECTION CENTRAL DOUBLE DOORS OPEN TO A SINGLE SHELF, FLANKED EITHER SIDE BY SINGLE DOOR CUPBOARD CONTAINING 2 SHELVES EACH.
