ART DECO ALABASTER FLOOR LAMP CIRCA 1920.
FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO OWN THIS QUITE RARE STONE FLOOR LAMP MADE FROM ALABASTER. THE PIECE IS MADE FROM 7 SECTIONS OF THE SAME ALABASTER WHICH IS SECURED TOP AND BOTTOM BY A HOLLOW ROD AND BOLTS. WHEN CONNECTED TOGETHER IT IS QUITE STABLE, BUT USUALLY WOULD BE SECURED FURTHER BY A PLASTER SOLUTION IN SITU.
THE TOP SECTION IS SIMILAR TO AN OVERSIZED CHAMBER CANDLESTICK, WITH THE SECTIONS OF COLUMNS GRADUALLY INCREASING IN THICKNESS TOWARDS THE BOTTOM OF THE BASE, WHICH FINISHES WITH A DOMED BOWL SHAPE WITH FLAT BUN FEET.
CURRENTLY UNWIRED, BUT WOULD BE A STRAIGHT FORWARD JOB TO FITTED WITH CABLE AND A LIGHT FITTING TO THE TOP.
3 UNDERSTANDABLE MINOR LOSSES TO THE ALABASTER ON THE SECTION EDGES, WHICH HAVE BEEN FILLED AND PHOTOGRAPHED.
PIECE WILL BE SENT UNASSEMBLED FOR SAFE TRANSIT.
