MID 19TH CENTURY SWEDISH HAND PAINTED CUPBOARD CIRCA 1860.
SCANDINAVIAN CUPBOARD MADE FROM PITCH PINE DUE TO THE WEIGHT ON THE PIECE.
COMPRISING OF 2 SECTIONS, ELEGANT AND SIMPLE DESIGN, SHAPED CORNICE WITH A DOOR CUPBOARD BELOW, DECORATED WITH A MOULDED EDGE. DOORS OPEN TO AN INTERIOR OF 4 FIXED SHELVES AND PAINTED INTERIOR. BASE FITTED WITH A SINGLE DRAWER, WITHOUT A HANDLE WHICH IS TYPICAL FOR SWEDISH FURNITURE OF THIS PERIOD. SHAPED FREIZE AND BRACKET FEET TO FINISH.
WORKING LOCK AND KEY.
LATER PAINTED WHICH HAS SINCE TAKEN ON A DESIRABLE FADED APPEARANCE. MINOR SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK. VERY HEAVY ITEM AND READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.
