Description

This unusual English writing table, circa 1860, is beautifully veneered in flame mahogany and fitted with a folio stand that can be moved between brass-collared holes in each corner of the rectangular top, offering three levels of angle for display and reading. A single drawer with turned wooden handle sits above scrolling legs united by a turned stretcher, raised on brass castors. With only minor fading to the top surface, it remains in very good condition and ready for everyday use.

BEAUTIFULLY VENEERED IN FLAME MAHOGANY, RECTANGULAR TOP SURFACE WITH ROUNDED EDGES, FITTED WITH A BRASS COLLARED HOLE IN EACH CORNER THAT ALLOWS THE SMALL FOLIO STAND TO BE MOVED INTO EACH CORNER. FOLIO STAND WITH 3 LEVELS OF ANGLE FOR DISPLAY AND READING. SINGLE DRAWER WITH TURNED WOODEN HANDLE. RAISED ON SUPPORTS WITH APPLIED CARVED MOULDING AND SCROLLING LEGS. UNITED BY A TURNED STRETCHER. STANDING ON BRASS CASTORS.

MINOR FADING TO TOP SURFACE BUT OVERALL VERY GOOD CONDITION. RARE PIECE OF FURNITURE AND READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.
