19TH CENTURY BURR WALNUT DAVENPORT WRITING DESK CIRCA 1890.

FINE QUALITY VICTORIAN DAVENPORT MADE IN BURR WALNUT AND DECORATED WITH EBONY STRINGING.

DECORATIVE BACK WITH CARVED SCROLLS AND BEADING, FORMING THE BACK DROP TO A SHELF WITH TURNED SUPPORTS. BAIZE TOP WRITING SURFACE WITH A FALL THAT OPENS TO REVEAL A FITTED BIRCH INTERIOR OF 3 DRAWERS WITH DROPLET HANDLES.

DOUBLE DOOR CUPBOARD IN FRONT OF KNEE WHICH CONTAINS A FITTED SHELF, FLANKED EITHER SIDE BY TURNED AND FLUTED COLUMNS. POLISHED ON THE REVERSE TO ALLOW THIS PIECE TO BE FREE STANDING.

STANDING ON FRONT BUN FEET, WITH BLOCK FEET TO THE REAR.

SURFACE MARKS TO SHELF ABOVE WRITING SURFACE, BAIZE FADED AND WORN, IDEALLY TO BE REPLACED, BUT IN USEABLE CONDITION.
