EARLY 20TH CENTURY GOTHIC REVIVAL CARVED OAK ALTER TABLE CIRCA 1901.

STUNNING AND ORIGINAL GOTHIC REVIVAL ALTER TABLE, WHICH WE HAVE DATED FROM THE APPLIED PLAQUE, BUT THE PIECE IS MORE LIKELY TO BE CIRCA 1890, WITH THE PLAQUE BEING APPLIED LATER WHEN IT WAS DONATED TO THE CHURCH.

RECTANGULAR SOLID OAK TOP WITH CARVED BORDER, CARVED FREIZE BELOW WITH VINES AND LEAVES. APPLIED BRASS PLAQUE WHICH IS INSCRIBED ‘ DEDICATED TO THE GLORY OF GOD, BY EMMA AND MATTHEW WAINWRIGHT, UNITED METHODIST FREE CHURCH, PARK GREEN, AUGUST 1901’

THE CENTRAL PROFUSELY CARVED DOOR WHICH SHOWS THE TREE OF LIFE HAS BEEN DONE TO A HIGH STANDARD, WITH TURNED COLUMNS EITHER SIDE. THESE COLUMNS ARE REPEATED FOR THE 4 LEGS WHICH ARE UNITED BY A STRETCHER. TO THE REVERSE IS A SINGLE DOOR LOCKABLE CUPBOARD WHICH CONTAINS A SINGLE SHELF.

THIS PIECE OFFERS MANY POSSIBLE USES AROUND THE HOME, HOSPITALITY OR RETAIL.
