Description

This substantial Swedish chest of drawers, circa 1870, is painted in a later finish best described as a very light grey or dirty white. Oak lined throughout and of pleasing weight, it offers three equal drawers that open on the key, with working locks. Standing on carved front feet and block feet to the rear, it shows minor losses and fading consistent with age, yet remains strong, sturdy and ready for everyday use.

SUBSTANTIAL BAROQUE REVIVAL SWEDISH CHEST OF DRAWERS. PRESENTED IN LATER PAINT WHICH IS BEST DESCRIBED AS A VERY LIGHT GREY OR A DIRTY WHITE.

PLAIN TOP WITH MOULDED EDGE, BELOW WHICH ARE 3 DRAWERS OF EQUAL PROPORTION THAT OPEN ON THE KEY. HANDLES COULD BE RETRO FITTED IF REQUIRED.

WORKING LOCKS AND KEY. STANDING ON 2 FRONT CARVED FEET AND BLOCK FEET TO THE REVERSE. OAK LINED DRAWERS, MAKING THIS A CHEST OF SOME WEIGHT.

MINOR LOSSES AND FADING TO PAINTWORK. 1 INDENTATION TO TOP EDGE AND OLD LOSSES TO 1 FRONT FOOT, THESE ARE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS.
