SWEDISH 19TH CENTURY BURR BIRCH SECRETAIRE CHEST OF DRAWERS CIRCA 1870.

STUNNING 4 DRAWER CHEST OF DRAWERS WHICH HAS BEEN BEAUTIFULLY VENEERED IN BURR BIRCH AND MAINTAINS ITS RICH GOLDEN COLOUR.

SLIGHT OVER SAILING TOP SURFACE WITH BULL NOSED EDGE. TOP DRAWER WHICH OPENS ON THE KEY OPENS TO REVEAL A FULLY FITTED SECRETAIRE INTERIOR. DRAWER FRONT DROPS DOWN TO FORM THE WRITING SURFACE, WITH AN INTERIOR OF A CENTRAL TABERNACLE FLANKED EITHER SIDE BY PIGEON HOLES AND DRAWERS. 3 FURTHER DRAWERS OF EQUAL PROPORTIONS BELOW.

STANDING ON BLOCK FEET.

AGE SPLITS TO TOP SURFACE WHICH HAVE BEEN RESTORED THESE ARE STRUCTURALLY SOUND AND EXPECTED WITH THE BURR TIMBERS USED. MINOR SURFACE MARKS. ORIGINAL RICH COLOUR AND PATINA.
