Description

This handmade Scandinavian folk art pine box, circa 1830, is a good quality piece of Swedish woodwork. Made in pine with original metal strap work held in place by studs and a carrying handle to the lid, it retains its original working key and lock. The interior is natural pine, later painted black on the outside, with losses to the woodwork and natural age splits in line with age and use.

MADE IN PINE WITH ORIGINAL METAL STRAP WORK. HELD IN PLACE BY STUDS. CARRYING HANDLE TO LID. ORIGINAL KEY AND LOCK WHICH DOES WORK, BUT IT’S A LOCK YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO USE DUE TO ITS AGE AND CONSTRUCTION. INTERIOR OF NATURAL PINE, LATER PAINTED BLACK ON THE OUTSIDE.
