Description

This French Empire reclining chair in flame mahogany and original brown buttonback leather dates to circa 1860. A shaped and carved head rest with wingback supports, scrolled arms with applied pads and a pull-out foot rest that adjusts to various positions speak to comfort in the 19th-century manner. Brass stud detailing, original colour and patina, minor restoration to the head rest and a few missing leather buttons complete its honest character.

WE ARE PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO OFFER THIS STUNNING FRENCH FLAME MAHOGANY RECLINING CHAIR FOR SALE. DESIGNED TO PROVIDE THE ULTIMATE IN COMFORT DURING THE 19TH CENTURY.

SHAPED AND CARVED HEAD REST AND WINGBACK HEAD SUPPORTS. SCROLLED ARMS WITH APPLIED ARM PAD FOR COMFORT. ORIGINAL BROWN BUTTONBACK LEATHER, WITH BRASS STUD WORK DETAILING. FOOT REST IS LOCATED PULLS OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE SEAT AND IS ABLE TO SET IN VARIOUS POSITIONS.

STANDING ON 4 SCROLLED LEGS WHICH HAVE BEEN RETRO FITTED WITH 20TH CENTURY RUBBER STOPPERS.

ORIGINAL COLOUR AND PATINA, MINOR RESTORATION TO HEAD REST, EXPECTED MINOR SURFACE MARKS TO WOOD. LEATHER MISSING A FEW BUTTONS, BUT IN GENERALLY GOOD CONDITION FOR AGE, WITH LIGHT SURFACE MARKS TO BACK REST.
