This Victorian captains armchair, circa 1860, is made from solid elm and offers plenty of character. The shaped back and arms are linked with turned spindles to the seat, while turned legs are united by a stretcher. Surface marks and natural movement to the woodwork only add to its charm, and the chair remains structurally sound and ready for everyday use.
