Description

This large hand woven pine basket, Scandinavian in character and dating to circa 1895, is generously sized with a carrying handle at each end and a solid pine base for extra strength. It shows few expected minor losses and an area of restoration on the side frame to a previous break, retaining much of its original charm.

GENEROUS SIZED SCANDINAVIAN HAND WOVEN BASKET, QUITE POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN USED AS A CRIB FOR AN INFANT. CARRYING HANDLE EACH END AND A SOLID PINE BASE FOR EXTRA STRENGTH. IDEAL FOR USE TODAY FOR STORAGE UNDER THE BED, OR EVEN AS A FIREPLACE LOG BASKET.
