Description

This French carved oak rooster, circa 1880, is a rare and characterful piece believed to have hung as a shop sign. Beautifully carved with its original painted surface, it shows some age splits and minor losses, and is missing its feet, yet remains in good solid condition — a wonderfully decorative survivor of Victorian trade signage.
