Description

This early 20th century French shop sign, circa 1920, is a characterful piece of Art Deco metalware. Shaped steel painted white with applied French lettering reading 'Antiques and Secondhand Goods', it retains its top brackets from hanging outside the shop. The dealer's name has been crudely scratched out, with losses to the paintwork and minor rusting adding to its honest, weathered charm.

SHAPED STEEL, PAINTED WITH APPLIED LETTERING IN FRENCH WHICH READS ‘ANTIQUES AND SECONDHAND GOODS’. THE DEALERS NAME HAS BEEN CRUDLY SCRATCHED OUT.

BRACKETS REMAIN TO THE TOP OF THE SIGN WHERE THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN HANGING OUTSIDE THE SHOP.

OBVIOUS LOSSES TO PAINTWORK AND MINOR RUSTING.
