EARLY 19TH CENTURY CARVED OAK SWEDISH PAINTED SOFA, CIRCA 1820.
RARE AND STUNNING PIECE OF PERIOD SWEDISH FURNITURE. 3 SEAT SOFA WHICH HAS RECENTLY BEEN RE-COVERED IN BLACK/GREY AND WHITE CHECK FABRIC.
SHAPED SIDES WITH DIAMOND SHAPE PATTERN SCORED ONTO IT. STANDS ON 6 CARVED CABRIOLE LEGS, CARVED FREIZE WITH SHELLS.
LATER PAINT, WHICH HAS SINCE TAKEN ON A FADED APPEARANCE, ALLOWING THE GRAIN OF THE WOOD TO SHOW THROUGH.
PAINTED BACK MAKES THIS SOFA FREE STANDING.
THIS SOFA COULD SIT WELL IN THE HOME, HALLWAY OR GRACE ANY HOTEL FOYER.
