Description

This carved mahogany oval centre table, Scandinavian in character and dating to circa 1890, reflects the elegance of Empire style. The moulded oval top sits above an apron with applied moulding, supported by a fluted and carved stem linking to a platform base raised on four carved paw feet. Showing minor fading and surface marks in line with age, the top has been restored and hand re-polished.

OVAL TOP WITH MOULDED EDGE AND APPLIED MOULDING AROUND THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE APRON, SUPPORTED BY A FLUTED AND CARVED STEM WHICH LINKS TO THE PLATFORM BASE. RAISED ON 4 CARVED PAW FEET.

TABLE SIZE LENDS ITSELF TO BEING USED AS A CENTER TABLE OR FOR A SOFA/SIDE TABLE.

MINOR FADING AND RESTORATION TO TOP SURFACE WHICH HAS BEEN FINISHED BY A HAND RE-POLISH. MINOR SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK IN LINE WITH AGE AND USE.
