Description

This Swedish Empire console table, circa 1860, is crafted in elm with a shaped marble top of grand proportions. A single concealed drawer sits below the top surface, while scrolled front legs support a serpentine lower tier. The veneers show wonderful colour and figuring, with repairs to the original marble and minor expected restorations to the veneer.

FINE QUALITY CONSOLE TABLE OF GRAND PROPORTIONS. SHAPED MARBLE TOP STANDING ON AN ELM BASE. SINGLE CONCEALED DRAWER BELOW THE TOP SURFACE. SCROLLED FRONT LEGS WITH SERPENTINE SHAPED LOWER TIER. IDEAL FOR USE IN MULTIPLE ROOMS AROUND THE HOME SUCH AS THE LIVING ROOM OR HALLWAY.

FANTASTIC COLOUR AND FIGURING TO THE VENEERS USED.

ORIGINAL MARBLE TOP WITH REPAIRS, WHICH WERE DONE AT THE POINT OF HARVEST. MINOR EXPECTED RESTORATIONS TO VENEER.
