Description

This profusely carved Victorian oak buffet, circa 1870, offers beautiful quality in richly figured oak. Its three tiers carry a pierced carved gallery above a double door cupboard, with carvings depicting foliage, fruit, lion heads and cherub-like figures, united by four turned supports and standing on concealed castors. Recently re-polished in our workshop, it shows expected minor surface marks and currently dissembles for ease of movement.

BEAUTIFUL QUALITY CARVED OAK BUFFET, CIRCA 1870. COMPRISING OF 3 TIERS, PIERCED CARVED GALLERY ABOVE AND DOUBLE DOOR CUPBOARD BELOW. 1 DRAWER IN THE TOP 2 TIERS, CUPBOARD BELOW OPENS TO A SINGLE DRAWER ON 1 SIDE AND CUPBOARD SPACE ON THE OTHER. CARVINGS DEPICT FOLIAGE, FRUIT, LION HEADS AND CHERUB LIKE FIGURES. UNITED BY 4 STUNNING TURNED SUPPORTS. STANDS ON CONCEALED CASTORS. THIS PIECE CURRENTLY DISSEMBLES FOR EASE OF MOVEMENT AND SHIPPING, AND IDEALLY WOULD REQUIRE FIXING TOGETHER WHEN ASSEMBLED TO ACHIEVE ITS MAXIMUM STABILITY.
