19TH CENTURY CARVED OAK BLACK FOREST CADDY ON STAND CIRCA 1870.

WE CAN’T QUITE PUT OUR FINGER ON WHAT THIS PIECE ACTUALLY IS, OBVIOUSLY SOME TYPE OF CADDY.

ORIGINAL DATED TAPESTRY ON THE LID, FINELY CARVED WITH LEAVES AND FOLIAGE AND DATED AGAIN ON THE FRONT.

STANDING ON 3 ROOT LEGS, THAT JOIN TOGETHER.

TIN CADDY INSIDE THE TOP, WHICH HAS HAD RESTORATION TO LID. AGE SPLIT TO REVERSE BUT IS STRUCTURALLY SOUND. REPLACED AND RESTORATION TO HINGE. WEAR TO TAPESTRY.
