FINE PIECE OF HISTORY SHOWING HOW SUGAR USED TO BE PROCESSED. BIRCH ROOT BOX WITH A FITTED INTERIOR OF A HINGED KNIFE ON BLOCK FOR CUTTING SUGAR. SITTING ON BOARD WITH HOLES TO ALLOW THE SUGAR TO FALL THROUGH. INTERIOR IS REMOVABLE IF DESIRED.
1 AGE SPLIT TO LID, EXPECTED SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK.
