19TH CENTURY BIEDERMEIER CARVED AND PAINTED CANE CHAIR CIRCA 1800.

A FINE EXAMPLE OF EARLY AUSTRIAN BIEDERMEIER FURNITURE. SHAPED BACKREST WITH PIERCED DETAILING, MAIN FEATURE BEING THE GERMANIC COAT OF ARMS IN THE BACKREST. CHAIR IS BEAUTIFULLY HAND PAINTED WITH A ROSE DESIGN. ORIGINAL CANE WORK SEAT.

STANDING ON 4 BALL AND CLAW FEET WITH TRACES OF ORIGINAL GILDING.
