Description

This finely carved Anglo Indian side table, made from padouk and dating to circa 1870, offers profuse hand carving of real quality. The rectangular top has a carved border above a single lockable drawer fitted with original partitions and a sliding well beneath for embroidery storage, while the densely carved and pierced base features roundels and scrolls on an acanthus leaf foot. Much of the original patina has been retained, with no splits or losses, though there is some surface staining to the top.
