Description

This fine dropleaf table, carved in solid mahogany and dating from the end of the Chippendale period, circa 1780, opens to a near-circular top with swing-out legs supporting the leaves for occasional dining use. The cabriolet legs are beautifully carved with a deep acanthus leaf on the knee and finish in ball and claw feet. Rich in colour and patina, it has recently been re-polished in our workshop; minor surface marks in keeping with age are expected, leaving it ready for everyday use.
