Description

This Victorian oval centre table, crafted in flame mahogany around 1890, is a fine example of 19th-century cabinetmaking. The striking quarter-matched flame timbers of the top sit above a generous frieze with delicate applied waved moulding, while the turned and hand-carved stem rises on four scrolling legs with acanthus leaf detailing. Richly coloured and hand polished in our workshop, it shows only very minor surface marks in line with age and is ready for everyday use.

OVAL TOP WITH STRIKING QUARTER MATCHING FLAME TIMBERS USES, GENEROUS FRIEZE WITH A DELICATE APPLIED WAVED MOULDING AROUND THE BOTTOM EDGE. TURNED AND HAND CARVED STEM AND RAISED ON 4 SCROLLING LEGS WITH CARVED ACANTHUS LEAF DETAILING.

RICH DEEP COLOUR AND HAND POLISHED IN OUR WORKSHOP, AND READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.

VERY MINOR SURFACE MARKS IN LINE WITH AGE.
