Description

This fine pair of carved solid wood lions, circa 1950, are heavily carved and seated with one paw resting on a ball. Presented on custom made plinths decorated in copperised weathered paint, they show age splits from shrinkage after time outdoors, adding character while remaining structurally sound, with restoration to one previously broken paw.

DUE TO THE LIONS HAVING SPENT SOME TIME OF THEIR LIFE OUTSIDE THERE ARE OBVIOUS AGE SPLITS FROM SHRINKAGE, BUT THESE ONLY ADD CHARACTER AND OUR STRUCTURALLY SOUND.

RESTORATION TO 1 PREVIOUSLY BROKEN PAW.
