Description

This early 19th century Swedish Baroque chest of drawers, circa 1800, is a rare period commode in oak with a serpentine shaped front. Fitted with five drawers in a 2 over 3 format, it features cock beaded edges, walnut and satinwood inlay with ebony stringing, and carved detail continuing around the sides. With its original ornate handles and key plates, some expected minor restorations to veneer and fading to the top surface, it remains in fine condition for age and ready for everyday use.

INLAID BIRCH DESIGN ON THE SIDES. ORGANIC APPLIED CARVING BENEATH THE DRAWERS WHICH CONTINUES ROUND THE SIDES.

ORIGINAL ORNATE HANDLES, AND KEY PLATES

SOME EXPECTED MINOR RESTORATIONS TO VENEER AND FADING TO TOP SURFACE, BUT IN FINE CONDITION FOR AGE AND READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.
