19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY DROP LEAF PEMBROKE TABLE CIRCA 1840.

GOOD QUALITY EARLY VICTORIAN DROP LEAF TABLE WHICH IS KNOWN AS A PEMBROKE TABLE, LIKELY GAINING IT’S NAME FROM THE 9TH DUKE OF PEMBROKE WHO WAS AN AMATEUR DESIGNER.

STRONG IN THE SHERATON TASTE, THE D END LEAVES OPEN OUT TO FORM A DECENT SERVING OR POTENTIALLY DESK SURFACE. TOP SURFACE WITH GOOD PATINATION AND A STRUNG AND CROSS BANDED EDGE.

SINGLE DRAWER TO THE FRONT, FITTED WITH LATER HANDLES. STANDING ON 4 TAPERING LEGS WHICH RETAIN THEIR ORIGINAL BRASS CASTORS.

EXPECTED SURFACE MARKS TO LEGS AND WOODWORK, LEAVES WITH A VERY SLIGHT WARP, THIS IS DOWN TO NATURAL SHRINKAGE, BUT STILL FORMS A TRUE SURFACE.
