Description

This Sheraton period sewing table, circa 1790, is crafted in mahogany with a beautifully inlaid satinwood top featuring a central fan and sand burnt floral border. The drop leaves open to form an oval surface on original hinges and knuckle supports, above a single drawer fitted with a pin cushion and compartments, complete with working lock and key. Recently hand French polished in our workshop, it retains minor expected surface marks and very old minor repairs to the top surface.

WE ARE VERY PLEASED TO OFFER THIS ENGLISH SHERATON PERIOD PIECE OF FURNITURE, IN THE FORM OF AN OCCASIONAL TABLE.

BEAUTIFULLY INLAID TOP WITH A CENTRAL FAN AND A SAND BURNT FLORAL BORDER, ALL SET IN SATINWOOD WHICH CONTRASTS PERFECTLY TO THE MAIN BODY OF TIMBER. THE LEAVES OPEN TO FORM AN OVAL SURFACE, COMPLETE WITH ITS ORIGINAL HINGES AND KNUCKLE SUPPORTS. BELOW THE TOP IS A SINGLE DRAWER WHICH IS FITTED WITH A PIN CUSHION AND COMPARTMENTS. WORKING LOCK AND KEY. FURTHER INLAY AND STRINGING FLOWS DO THE 4 TAPERED LEGS.

STUNNING PIECE OF FURNITURE WHICH COULD HAVE MANY POTENTIAL USES AROUND THE HOME.

RECENTLY FRENCH POLISHED BY HAND IN OUR WORKSHOP. MINOR EXPECTED SURFACE MARKS AND VERY OLD MINOR REPAIRS TO TOP SURFACE WHICH ARE SHOWN IN THE PICTURES.
