19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILDED ORMOLU 8-ARM CHANDELIER CIRCA 1880.
MADE IN FRANCE USING A TECHNIQUE CALLED MERCURY GILDING. 8 ARMS WHICH HOLD 2 CANDLES ON EACH. DECORATED WITH ACANTHUS LEAVES AND LIONS HEADS.
WE HAVE TO STRESS THIS IS OF THE FINEST QUALITY, AND A VERY HEAVY ITEM.
PREVIOUSLY WIRED FOR ELECTRICITY, WHICH COULD BE RESTORED IF DESIRED. VERY MINOR FADING AND SLIGHT MOVEMENT TO METALWORK.
