Description

This walnut and burr leather top pedestal desk, circa 1990, is a good example of a 19th century designed piece. Made in three sections — the top and two pedestals — it has a green leather writing surface with gold tooling, drawers above the knee and either side, and two drawers in each pedestal, the lowest deep enough to house a filing system. The drawers are fitted with brass swan neck handles and veneered in flame mahogany, with lovely quality burr walnut and cherry woods throughout. It stands on a plinth base with concealed castors and shows expected surface marks from everyday use.
