Description

This Swedish occasional table, circa 1850, is a graceful piece of mid 19th century Gustavian character. The over-sailing top has an alder root outer edge with alder cross banding and stringing, above a shaped apron on each edge and four cabriole legs. A rare feature is the drawer at each end, partially concealed by the absence of handles. The age split to the top surface veneer has been made stable, with expected surface marks.

ELEGANT PIECE OF MID 19TH CENTURY FURNITURE FROM SWEDEN. OVER SAILING TOP WITH ALDER ROOT OUTER EDGE AND ALDER CROSS BANDING WITH STRINGING. RARE FEATURE OF HAVING A DRAWER EACH END, WHICH IS PARTIALLY CONCEALED BY HAVING NO HANDLE. SHAPED APRON ON EACH EDGE.

STANDING ON 4 CABRIOLE LEGS.

AGE SPLIT TO TOP SURFACE VENEER WHICH HAS BEEN MADE STABLE. EXPECTED SURFACE MARKS.
