Description

This Swedish birch occasional table, circa 1890, is a graceful Empire piece in the lyre form. The rectangular top with canted corners is veneered in burr birch with salt and pepper stringing, above a single drawer fitted with compartments. Standing on a lyre base with brass detailing and shaped feet, it has a rich golden colour and only minor expected surface marks.

RECTANGULAR TOP WITH CANTED CORNERS, VENEERED IN BURR BIRCH WITH SALT AND PEPPER STRINGING DETAIL. SINGLE DRAWER BELOW WHICH IS FITTED WITH COMPARTMENTS. STANDS ON A LYRE FORM BASE WITH BRASS DETAILING, QUADRIFORM BASE WITH SHAPED FEET.

RICH GOLDEN COLOUR, MINOR EXPECTED SURFACE MARKS.
