Description

This pair of carved oak armchairs, circa 1890, is very much in the taste of Chippendale, with shaped back rests, scrolled arms and supports, and further carving to the front rail. Standing on carved cabriole legs with tapering rear legs, they offer a good generous seat and a rich colour to the woodwork. The drop-in seats are covered in a later star fabric on a blue background, with only minor surface marks.
