PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY CARVED MAHOGANY ARMCHAIRS CIRCA 1890.
GOOD QUALITY PAIR OF EMPIRE REVIVAL ARMCHAIRS FROM SWEDEN. SHAPED BACK REST VENEERED IN FLAME MAHOGANY WITH CARVED ACANTHUS LEAF DETAILING, FURTHER CARVED LOWER BACK SUPPORT. SCROLLING ARMS LINK DOWN TO THE SEAT. STANDING ON FRONT TURNED LEGS WITH TAPERING LEGS TO THE REAR.
SEAT COVERING IDEALLY IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT, WITH EVIDENCE OF GLUE MARKS FROM PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS AT HOLDING THE BRAIDING IN PLACE, BUT IN USEABLE CONDITION. EXPECTED SURFACE MARKS FROM USE, 1 AGE SPLIT TO VENEER ON 1 BACK REST WHICH IS PHOTOGRAPHED.
