Description

This Swedish elm coffee table, circa 1950, pairs fine mid-century design with a strong Art Deco influence. The circular top is beautifully inlaid with burr and figured timbers depicting a dragonfly over a pond, with further inlay around the edge. It stands on four slightly splayed legs with grooved detail, has minor restorations to the outer veneer and has recently been re-finished in our workshop.

GOOD QUALITY CIRCULAR COFFEE TABLE MADE IN SWEDEN. FINE MID CENTURY DESIGN BUT WITH A STRONG INFLUENCE FROM THE ART DECO PERIOD. BEAUTIFULLY INLAID WITH BURR’S AND FIGURED TIMBERS TO CREATE THE DRAGONFLY OVER A POND SCENE. FURTHER INLAY ALL THE WAY ROUND THE EDGE. STANDING ON 4 LEGS WITH A GROOVED DETAIL, SLIGHTLY SPLAYED FOR STABILITY.

MINOR RESTORATIONS TO VENEER AROUND OUTSIDE EDGE. RECENTLY RE-FINISHED IN OUR WORKSHOP AND READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.
