Description

This carved hardwood cabinet, circa 1950, is a large Chinese export cupboard in stained oriental hardwood with a red base colour. Double doors with brass fall hinges and decorative domed handles open to the interior, while a pierced and carved frieze sits above block feet. Showing minor surface marks from use, it would also lend itself beautifully to use as a wardrobe.

LARGE CHINESE EXPORT HARDWOOD CUPBOARD WHICH LENDS ITSELF PERFECTLY TO HAVING A RAIL ADDED TO THE INTERIOR FOR USE AS A WARDROBE.

STAINED HARDWOOD WITH A RED BASE COLOUR. DOUBLE DOOR CUPBOARD SUPPORTED BY BRASS FALL HINGES AND CENTRAL DECORATIVE DOMED AND HANDLES. BRASS PEG IS UNLIKELY TO BE ORIGINAL AND ONLY SERVES AS DECORATION. LEFT DOOR HELD IN PLACE BY LATCH.

PIERCED AND CARVED FREIZE TO BASE, STANDING ON BLOCK FEET. THIS PIECE IS MADE IN 1 PIECE AND DOES NOT SPLIT.
