Description

This Victorian carved mahogany fusee wall clock, circa 1860, is a good quality English piece from the High Victorian period. The white enamel dial with Roman numerals is framed by carved flowers and a glazed door with brass bevelled surround, while a panel below reveals the pendulum. With minor restorations to the veneer, crackling to the lower face and a replaced pendulum, it retains its original key and much of its character.

GOOD QUALITY ENGLISH WALL CLOCK FROM THE HIGH VICTORIAN PERIOD. WHITE ENAMEL DIAL WITH ROMAN NUMERALS, GLASS DOOR WITH BRASS BEVELLED SURROUND. DIAL DECORATED WITH CARVED FLOWERS AROUND THE OUTER EDGE. GLAZED PANEL BELOW ALLOWS THE PENDULUM TO BE VIEWED.

BOTTOM ACCESS DOOR WITH ORIGINAL KEY AND A FURTHER 2 MAINTENANCE DOORS BEHIND THE FACE.

MINOR RESTORATIONS TO VENEER. CRACKLING TO BOTTOM OF CLOCK FACE WHICH IS PHOTOGRAPHED. REPLACED PENDULUM.
