Description

This rustic Swedish pine bench, circa 1860, retains its original hand painted decoration in a plum coloured base with darker painted grain effects and contrasting green back supports. A traditional piece of folk art character, it has lived a working life and shows expected surface marks and minor natural warping, but has been fully restored and is structurally strong, ready for everyday use in a hallway or around the kitchen table.

HERE WE PRESENT A TRADITIONAL SWEDISH BENCH, COMPLETE IN IT’S ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED DEEP RED AND GREEN COLOUR SCHEME.

UPRIGHT BACK WHICH LENDS ITSELF PERFECTLY TO BEING USED IN A HALLWAY OR CLOAKROOM, OR AROUND THE KITCHEN DINING TABLE. PLUM COLOURED BASE PAINT WITH HAND PAINTED DARKER COLOURS TO SIMULATE A GRAIN EFFECT, BACK SUPPORTS PAINTED IN A CONTRASTING GREEN.

THIS PIECE HAS HAD A WORKING LIFE, WITH PREVIOUS HOLES WERE VARIOUS ATTACHMENTS MAY HAVE BEEN ADDED, BUT IT IS FULLY RESTORED AND STRUCTURALLY STRONG AND READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.
