Description

This handsome Liège cabinet, carved in oak and dating to circa 1860, is a fine two-piece Victorian piece from Belgium. It retains its original green coloured glass and contrasting painted interior, with a carved architectural cornice, glazed door and shaped shelving throughout. Showing minor surface marks and old restorations, with long-inactive wood worm treated, it remains full of character.

BEAUTIFUL 2 PIECE LIEGE CABINET FROM BELGIUM PRESENTED IN OAK, ORIGINAL GREEN COLOURED GLASS AND CONTRASTING PAINTED INTERIOR.

TOP SECTION WITH CARVED ARCHITECTURAL CORNICE, ROUNDED SIDES WITH RECESSED CARVED PANELS. SINGLE GLAZED DOOR TO THE FRONT WHICH ALLOWS ACCESS TO THE 3 SHAPED SHELVES, COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL SLIDE. BOTTOM SECTION OF THE SAME MANNER WHICH CONTAINS A FURTHER 2 SHELVES AND A LOWER STORAGE SPACE. GLAZED PANELS TO THE SIDES TOP AND BOTTOM. ALL RAISED ON 4 SHAPED LEGS.

MINOR SURFACE MARKS AND OLD RESTORATIONS, EVIDENCE OF MINOR WOOD WORM WHICH IS LONG INACTIVE AND TREATED. PUTTY TO TOP GLAZING HAS BEEN RE-DONE TO PROVIDE STABILITY.
