LATE 19TH CENTURY CARVED OAK ARTS AND CRAFTS CHAIR CIRCA 1890.

FINE QUALITY CHAIR, VERY MUCH IN THE TASTE OF MACKINTOSH MADE IN OAK. THIS CHAIR WAS PART OF THE SWEDISH ROYAL COLLECTION AND BARES THE CROWN STAMP ON THE SEAT AND FRAME.

TALL BACK, WITH AN EBONISED HAND CARVED GRIFFIN SET INTO THE BACK REST. TYPICAL FLOWING ARTS AND CRAFTS DESIGN WITH THE BACK REST LINKING TO THE STRETCHERS ON THE LEGS. LATER UPHOLSTERED DROP IN SEAT.

NATURAL COLOUR TO THE OAK, MINOR FADING AND SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK.

IDEAL FOR USE AS A HALL OR ENTRANCE CHAIR.
