FRENCH 19TH CENTURY EBONISED AND WALNUT JARDINERE STAND CIRCA 1890.
GOOD QUALITY FRENCH JARDINERE STAND IN THE EMPIRE REVIVAL TASTE. KIDNEY AND CONCAVE SHAPED LID, WITH A BURR INLAID PATTERN, CENTRAL OVAL SHAPED MIRROR WITH BEVELLED EDGE, FLANKED EITHER SIDE BY ORNATE ORMOLU HANDLES. THE LID LIFTS OFF TO REVEAL THE ORIGINAL LINER TRAY, WHICH IS ALSO REMOVABLE.
TOP SECTION IS FURTHER DECORATED WITH A BRASS GALLERY AND ROPE EDGING. CAST WINGED GRIFFIN MOUNTS LINK TO THE 4 SHAPED LEGS WHICH ARE UNITED BY A SHELF IN-BETWEEN. FURTHER BRASS DECORATION TO THE SHELF AND MOUNTS TO THE FEET.
RESTORATION TO THE EBONISED SECTIONS, EXPECTED SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK, WEAR AND ORIGINAL PATINA TO THE LINER. 1 BURN MARK TO TOP SURFACE.
