Description

This large wooden bowl, handmade from a solid piece of wood using an adzed carving technique, dates to circa 1900 and was originally used to feed livestock in Eastern Europe. It has been re-conditioned with a polished interior and a lighter exterior finish, and remains water tight. Minor surface marks to the woodwork speak to its rustic character and long life.

HERE WE OFFER A LARGE WOODEN BOWL WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN USED TO FEED LIVESTOCK IN EASTERN EUROPE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 1900’s. WE HAVE RE-CONDITIONED THE BOWL WITH A POLISHED INTERIOR AND A LIGHTER OUTSIDE. HANDMADE FROM A SOLID PIECE OF WOOD, USING AN ADZED CARVING TECHNIC.

THE BOWL IS WATER TIGHT, SO WITH FURTHER RESIN TREATMENT IT COULD FORM AN INTERESTING WATER FEATURE OR SINK BASIN. ALL SIMPLY FOR DISPLAY .
