Description

A good quality pair of mahogany Chippendale Revival armchairs by the well-known Swedish maker Nordiska Kompaniet, circa 1923. Hand carved with shaped and pierced back rests, scrolled arms and cabriole legs with acanthus detail to the knee, each terminating on a pad foot. Generous and comfortable seats, with makers' labels beneath. The fabric now needs replacing, a simple re-covering project rather than full upholstery, with minor surface marks to the woodwork.

GOOD QUALITY PAIR OF MAHOGANY ARMCHAIRS BY WELL KNOWN SWEDISH MAKER NORDISKA KOMPANIET. HAND CARVED USING A CHIPPENDALE INSPIRED DESIGN. SHAPED AND PIERCED BACK REST, SCROLLED CARVED ARMS, STANDING ON FRONT CABRIOLE LEGS WITH CARVED ACANTHUS DETAIL TO THE KNEE. ALL LEGS TERMINATING ON A PAD FOOT.

VERY COMFORTABLE CHAIRS WHICH OFFER A VERY GENEROUS SEAT, MAKING THEM IDEAL FOR HALLWAY/RECEPTION ROOM CHAIRS. MAKERS LABEL ON THE UNDERSIDE OF EACH.

FABRIC COVER NOW IN OBVIOUS NEED OF REPLACEMENT, BUT IS JUST A RE-COVERING PROJECT AND NOT FULL UPHOLSTERY. MINOR SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK.
