Description

This Victorian painted bureau, circa 1890, began life in flame mahogany and has been given a modern twist with a matt black paint finish and hand painted gold detailing. The fall drops to a writing height of 29 inches, revealing a fully fitted interior within a double door lockable tabernacle, flanked by pigeon holes and drawers. The mahogany drawer fronts have been retained, now with later wooden handles for pleasing contrast against the black body, and the piece is fitted with later brass hardware. Minor surface marks to the woodwork.

FLAME MAHOGANY DRAWER FRONTS HAVE BEEN RETAINED, WITH LATER WOODEN HANDLES, THIS PROVIDES A GOOD CONTRAST TO THE BLACK MAIN BODY.
