Description

This 19th century Swedish gilt and églomisé wall clock, circa 1840, is a fine example of the Empire period. Beautifully carved and surmounted with doves, it features two silhouette églomisé glass panels, one of which has a break. The hand painted Roman numeral face shows craquelure with some rubbing and wear, alongside minor gilt losses; the original glass survives. We recommend professional servicing for accurate timekeeping.

FINE QUALITY SWEDISH WALL CLOCK OF THE EMPIRE PERIOD CIRCA 1840. BEAUTIFULLY CARVED, SURMOUNTED WITH DOVES. 2 SILHOUETTE ÉGLOMISÉ GLASS PANELS (1 OF WHICH HAS A BREAK). CRAQUELURE TO CLOCK FACE WITH SOME RUBBING AND WEAR, DECORATED WITH HAND PAINTED ROMAN NUMERALS.

MINOR GILT LOSSES. ORIGINAL GLASS. WE RECOMMEND THAT THIS CLOCK IS PROFESSIONALLY SERVICED FOR ACCURATE TIME KEEPING.
